An Amazing 2639 Indian women, beautifully  clad in white Kerala sarees or Mundu, got together in Mumbai to break the record for the largest Kaikottikali dance. Kaikottikali (also known as Thiruvathirakkali   )is a famous women's group dance form of Kerala in the south of India.<br />
This event was held during MUMBAI POORAM festival and attracted an audience of around 75000. Mumbai Pooram Foundation, a registered Charitable Trust was attempting to perform biggest kaikottikkali , a traditional Kerala group dance form normally performed with 8-10 ladies/girls positioned in circular formation. It involved around 3000 ladies and girls attired in traditional Kerala Sari/Mundu to participate in this dance form & helped by hundreds of volunteers.  A Kaikottikkali of this magnitude of around 20 circles was  an excellent sight to watch and it aimed to reach the wonderful dance form all over the world.  Besides, a strong message of communal harmony was given as the participants represented all the major religions of India.
